Women’s Soccer Team Dominates in Hamburg
Hamburg, NY –
What Happened:
The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats traveled to face off against Hilbert College today in Hamburg, NY. The game was deadlocked in the early going of the match, but both teams had numerous opportunities to break the tie. Bryant & Stratton still controlled the pace, playing a fast tempo of a game. The Bobcats played a much more aggressive style, and their persistence soon paid off.
Nicelle Drew would put Bryant & Stratton Syracuse on the board with a strike past the goalkeeper (GK) in the 28th minute of play putting the Bobcats up 1-0. The goal was assisted by Masego Nfandiso. The two picked up right where they left off last season. The second goal came in the 37th minute off a 40+ yard strike from Masego Nfandiso, which is sure to be a "USCAA Play of the Week" candidate.
At the break, the Lady Bobcats led 2-0. Hilbert did not show any quitting throughout the 2nd half. A few of the Hawk’s chances hit the cross bar, but GK Mireia Ferrero Rosino, kept their attacks at bay. The Hawks put some impressive shots on goal, but they seemed to just go over the post.
In the 78th minute, sophomore defender, Nina Kotroba placed the ball perfectly off a free kick to the feet of Alba Serrano who locked in the score at 3-0 Bobcat with a chip shot over the goalie’s shoulder.
Next Game:
The Bobcats will travel to New Rochelle on Sunday the 17th to play Monroe College at 11:00 AM
