Decisive 3-1 Win Over SUNY Delhi Moves Bobcats to 5-3-3
The Lady Bobcats faced the #1 USCAA Division II team, Suny Delhi this past Saturday. The Lady Bobcats and the Lady Broncos both came out strong right at the start of the game. Both teams tried to connect plays early on and make their way to the goal but were unsuccessful. It was not until the 44th minute that senior forward Portia Davis (Pares, Antigua and Barbuda) was able to answer for the Lady Bobcats and lead them to a 1-0 score at the end of the first half.
The Lady Bobcats wasted no time in the beginning of the second half as Portia Davis broke the Lady Broncos back line and doubled the lead for the Lady Bobcats, 2-0 at the 51:43 mark. The Lady Bobcats continued to gain momentum and possess the ball, but could not find the back of the net. The Lady Broncos worked tirelessly and caught the Lady Bobcats off guard as Katie Herba (Perth, NY) made her way to the goal and put the Lady Broncos on the board, trailing 2-1 at the 72:44 mark. The Lady Broncos did not stop there as Alexa Scaglione (North Babylon, NY) found Devin Baratto (Franklin Square, NY) a couple minutes later to give the Lady Broncos the equalizer at the 76:11 mark.
The Lady Bobcats and the Lady Broncos were now tied 2-2 with just under fifthteen minutes to go in the second half. The Lady Bobcats picked up the intensity and found there chance as freshman forward Koemhong Hout (Phnom Penh,Cambodia) made her way through the Lady Broncos defense and ultimately gave the Lady Bobcats their winning goal. The Lady Bobcats finished the game 3-2 and handed the Lady Broncos their third loss of the season.
The Lady Bobcats (5-3-3) will be away as they face Cazenovia College this upcoming Tuesday at 2:00 p.m
