Bobcats Split Weekend Contests in Bobcat Bash
In a dominant performance on Saturday, Bryant & Stratton - Syracuse secured a convincing 70-37 victory over Cheyney. Eunice Silong led the charge with an impressive 21 points, shooting 9-20 from the field. Not only a scoring force, Silong also dominated the boards with an outstanding 29 rebounds.
Daja White contributed significantly, adding 28 points of her own while shooting an efficient 13-26 from the field. The dynamic duo played a pivotal role in the team's success, showcasing skill and teamwork in the Bobcat Bash matchup. This was a team win all around. Kadijah Jones kicked in 13 points & 9 rebounds of her own as well. Although Dee Reed Fuller is off to a slow start offensively, her effort on the glass is not to be overlooked. She finished with 12 total in the contest. Last but not least, Destiny Perry finished with 7 points of her own, but she showed her defensive prowess as she recorded 5 steals in the game. This was the offensive outburst the Bobcats needed in their early season. The way they are playing through adversity and playing together is truly admirable.
On Sunday, the Lady Bobcats faced off against the University of Maine Fort Kent in second game of the weekend. This was a back-and-forth contest for both teams where we had 7 lead changes, and ultimately came down to the 4th quarter. B&SC Syracuse took a 6 point lead into the 4th, but was outscored 22-11 in the final quarter of the game. Some performances worth noting was another consistent game from Kadijah Jones, who shot 50% from the field on 8-16 shooting, and finished with 19 points & 8 boards. Daja White had 15 of her own with 6 steals, but the Bobcats came up just short from earning another sweep in Buffalo.
The X-Factor in the game came from UMFK's Skye Dugan who had the game high of 24, who shot 14-16 from the charity strike.
This team absolutely has fight in them. Although they are missing some key players due to injury, they never show any sign of quit. The chemistry will continue to grow after each game, and there are high hopes for USCAA playoff run for this squad.
Next Game:
The Bobcats will face off against conference foe Bryant & Stratton Albany in the teams home opener on Saturday the 18th @ 4:00 PM
