Syracuse, NY-
The Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Women's Basketball team lost just their second adn third games of the year to Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo on Tuesday evening, 67-53 and Washington Adventist University, 83-59 on Wednesday evening. The losses for the Lady Bobcats drop their record to 10-3 on the season.
How it Happened:
On Tuesday night, the Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Women's Basketball team traveld to Buffalo, NY for a rematch with Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo. The Lady Bobcats were looking to avenge their only loss on the season which came all the way back on December, 9th of last year. That game saw Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo storm back from a large deficit to take down the Lady Bobcats 70-62.
In the game on Tuesday night, the Lady Bobcats battled with the #1-ranked Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo team throughout the first half. The Lady Bobcats were looking inside to their size advantage and Eunice Sillong and Magnama Traore helped keep the game close. In the 3rd quarter, the Lady Bobcats would go on a 7-0 run to tie the game early in the period and trade baskets with Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo to keep the game all square heading into the 4th quarter.
However, Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo would go on a 9-0 run of their own in the 4th quarter and the separation would prove to be too much for the Lady Bobcats to overcome. The final score on the evening was 67-53.
On Wednesday evening, the Lady Bobcats had a difficult turnaround after an emotional game the night before. The energy for the Lady Bobcats after back to back days of lengthy travel was missing from the start of the game and hurt them early on. Washington Adventist University was able to take advantage of this and open up a lead early that they would never relinquish. The Shock would go on to win 83-59 handing the Lady Bobcats their 3rd loss of the season.
"We are facing our biggest test of adversity at this point in the season," said Head Coach Quantae Elijah. "Our group needs to respond after some difficult games this week and look to bounce back before the games coming up this weekend."
Next Game:
The Lady Bobcats will play at home this Friday, February 10th at 5:30pm vs. Jamestown Community College.
