Inaugural Season Ends at Golden Eagle Outdoor Invitational
Bryant & Stratton College closed their inaugural track & field season with an appearance at the Golden Eagle Outdoor Invite at SUNY Brockport. Featuring a strong field made up of many SUNY institutions, BSC's growing program showed well.
Bryant and Stratton's Levar Sealey came out flying winning the 100m dash in his very first time running the event. Levar's time of 11.02 seconds blew out the competition and he won by a wide margin. Continuing his winning ways was Tevin Johnson winning the 400m dash at the line (again) in his first time running the event in college. Tevin also placed 5th in the 800m run with a personal best. Amado Lawson put up an impressive performance in his first and only meet of the year. Amado was able to place 5th in the 400m dash. He along with Tevin Johnson, Travis Russell, and Levar Sealey placed 2nd in an exciting 4x400m relay. This team put up a season best of 3:34.67 and challenged Buffalo State who won with a new meet record in the 4x400.
Bryant and Stratton runners Emmanuel Fischer, Daniel Hill, Mikai Carlton, and Brandon Moore all put up personal bests in their respective events and were all able to place in the top 3 or 4 in their heats. Lone Lady Bobcat Rebecca Brown was able to win her heat in the 100m dash and ran hard in her 200m dash, despite a nagging shin injury.
This was the inaugural season for Bryant and Stratton College Track and Field. With only 10 competitors at any given meet the men and lady Bobcats put up an impressive showing. The men and lady Bobcats proved that it doesn't matter how small a team is, if the team has heart and a downright refusal to give up it can accomplish anything. This team exceeded any and all expectations and will continue to do so in upcoming years.
