Virginia Beach, VA-
TheBryant & Stratton College-Syracuse Men's Soccer team defeated the #3-seed, Manor College 6-1 to advance to the USCAA National Championship Game on Sunday. The Bobcats advance out of Pool B and will compete in their seventh consecutive USCAA National Championship Game versus the winner of Pool A.
How it Happened:
The Bobcats were back in action for their second game of Pool B play less than 24 hours later following their dramatic penalty-kick shootout win over Salem University. Fortunately for the Bobcats, they showed no signs of fatigue and jumped on top of Manor College just 3 minutes into the match.
A whipped in corner kick from Felipe Pampolim found the foot of Azinho Solomon at the back post. Somehow Solomon's shot found its way through a crowd of players and into the back of the net giving the Bobcats a 1-0 lead just 3 minutes into the game.
In the 23rd minute of the match, Shawn Altidor Viau, the 2022 USCAA Player of the Year, continued his incredible season with another goal to push the Bobcats lead to 2-0. Altidor Viau was played in behind the Blue Jays backline by Solomon and the finish was never in doubt on the right foot of Altidor Viau.
The Bobcats would continue to be the aggressor over the course of the match and go on to win 6-1. Goals for the Bobcats were scored by Aidan O'Keeffe (2), Antyon Henry, and Razvan Ititesc.
"We are thrilled to be heading back to the USCAA National Championship Game," said Head Coach Nick Dimitrievski. "We have worked so hard all season to get to this point and we will look to defend our title in what should be a great matchup on Sunday evening."
Next Game:
The Bobcats will look to win their 3rd Consecutive USCAA National Championship on Sunday, November 13th at 5:30pm vs. the #1-seed University of Maine- Fort Kent.
