Bobcats Take Down Hardwick to Wrap Undefeated Regular Season
The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats completed their regular season competition with a 7-0 victory over the Hartwick Hawks Saturday afternoon. Both teams were tasked with battling in a mud and puddle ridden field playing the entirety of the game in 38 degrees and freezing rain. Players on both sides found themselves sliding and looking to finding their footing until Delano Hodge opened the scoring with a close range shot crossed by defender Yago Pimenta. The goals continued to flow once the Bobcats gained momentum from Bogdan Milovanovic's left footed goal and Kyle McGibbons' first goal of the season. Alex Pompo punched in two goals for himself in the second half and Senior Zino Zampach added a pair to mark his final game on the field of his four year tenure. The goalkeepers for both sides put up great performances with the Hawk's recording 15 saves to the Bobcats’ 2.
The Bobcats await pool play at the National Championships in Virginia Beach, VA next month with an 11-0 undefeated record. Bryant & Stratton are looking to break their 3 year 'curse' of runner's up in the Championship game and bring home a first place victory. Ahead of the post season, head coach Nick Dimitrievski stated "I am so proud of our players ability, attitude and achievements. Our team has the heart of a champion". The USCAA selection show takes place Tuesday afternoon, October 30th to determine final seeding before nationals.
