Women's Basketball make National tournament!
The Bryant & Stratton Syracuse Women's Basketball program recently received a bid into the 2020 national tournament in Uniontown, PA at Penn State Fayette! The Lady Bobcats received the eighth seed into the tournament. They will match up against the top ranked University of St. Thomas Celts from Houston, Texas in the first round. The game will be played on March 12th @ 6:00 p.m. in the Main Arena.
The team's top wins helped them gain an at large bid. Earlier in the season the Bobcats took down Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champions, Albany Pharmacy by a large margin of 33 points. Another top win came against BSC Buffalo. At the time of the game Buffalo was the number one ranked team in the country with a record of 18-4. The final game of the regular season weighed heavily on post season aspirations. The team needed a big result against a very hot Central Penn team that had won seven of their last eight games. The Syracuse Bobcats showed up and played their best game of the season, winning the game 79-60.
In their first season in program history the Syracuse Bobcats finished the season with a 9-11 overall record. They had a winning record against USCAA opponents. The team went 4-2 at home on the season and also finished the season winning 4 out of their last six games. The team was top five in scoring and was led by senior All American nominee Amanda Cruz. Amanda finished the season as the nation's leading scorer averaging 23.8 points per game.
