Women's Soccer off to an early start!
Our women's soccer team started out their 2020 campaign this weekend with their first practice of the year.
After taking a few months off to rest and return to full health, the women were ready to get after it in their first organized activity since the end of the 2019 season!
Coach Alex was one of the most excited to get everyone back together again. "You go months during the season where you spend more time with your teammates than anyone else and you get closer because of it. Naturally during the off season that time together decreases but these early practices will help to build a closer team as early as possible."
He continues, "Last season we were able to secure that #1 national ranking and a 14-2 overall record. We are very proud of both of those accomplishments but we got the chance to watch the men's team secure their national championship and nothing could have been better motivation for these women. Our expectation is to make it to the national championship and and bring another gold trophy back to campus."
As you can see, making it to the national tournament is an expectation, not a goal for Coach Alex's team and we cant wait to see them take the field again this fall!
GO BOBCATS!
