Bobcats Take Down Rival!
This afternoon our women's team took on their long time rival, University Of Maine at Fort Kent. The Bobcats and Bengals went at it right from the start with the physicality maintaining throughout the game. The first half ended scoreless with both teams getting shots on goal. Once the second half began the Bobcats stepped up the pressure and intensity to finally break the tie on a goal by junior forward Lyla Lionel. Though the Bengals had chances for the rest of the game, the Bobcats defense and freshman goalkeeper Deyana Marshall kept them at bay. Coach Alex said "This is a big win for the beginning of the season. We had chances early we weren't able to capitalize on but we know the level we can get to, we need to continue working to get there. It's a testament to the character of this team that we were able to keep fighting in order to finally secure the lead." The win today improves the record of our women's team to 3-0 after victories over Penn State Hazelton and Cazenovia College. Their next game is also home and is this Saturday September 14 at 1PM against Albany College of Pharmacy. We hope to see you there! GO BOBCATS!
