Here come the Bobcats for the 2019-20 season!!
The 2018-19 season for the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats were impressive, exciting, and historical! Both our men's and women's soccer teams reached the National Championship Tournament in Virginia Beach! Our Mens Soccer team finished as the National Championship Runners Up after an undefeated regular season. The 2018 season was also the inaugural season for our men's basketball team under Coach Dan Frisina. The success of our men's basketball program lead us to expand our athletics program to create our first ever Women's Basketball team for the upcoming 2019-20 season under Coach Clay Sherman. All of our athletes have been enjoying their off season this summer and are preparing to return even better athletes than they were. However, our coaching staff has been all over the state of New York hand picking athletes who they could not be more excited to bring into Bobcat Nation for the upcoming 2019-2020 season!
Our newest coaching addition, Clay Sherman, has been locking down his women's basketball team all summer. Just because this is a first year program doesn't mean Coach Clay doesn't have high expectations for his incoming team. " I am excited about the high level of talent we have coming in and we are going to be establishing a winning culture for years to come" says Coach Sherman. This is a team full of not only local talent but experienced athletes from all over New York. Come out to support the Lady Bobcats this Fall as they begin their inaugural season!
Coach Dan has been working all summer on adding key pieces to his returning men's basketball team. With the majority of his team returning for a second season, combined with all the new incoming talent there will definitely be a culture of competition and hard work surrounding this team. Coach Dan adds, "I am really excited about having the majority of our roster from last year returning. All of our new recruits add something that will make our team that much deeper as well. Our combination of experience and talent has me really excited for our upcoming season". You can come support both our men's and women's basketball teams this fall at Bishop Grimes High School!
The perennial powerhouse on campus is the men's soccer team. Coach Nick returns once again to lead the Bobcats and has a unique feeling about this upcoming season. The former coach of the year says, "We are returning very experienced players and have added some of the most sought after soccer players not just in New York but nationally. We have been the National Championship runners up for 4 consecutive years. We have been knocking on the door for a long time and this year we plan on kicking it in." As you can tell this year is shaping up to be something truly special for our men's soccer team. Make sure you come support the Bobcats at the CNY Sports Center in Baldwinsville NY.
Coach Alex Grigorita has returned as head women's soccer coach to lead the Lady bobcats into their 2019 season. "We have a very strong incoming class, as well as playing a strong schedule this year. Our sights are set on bringing the first women's soccer national title to BSC" says Coach Alex. The bar has been set high as usual for our athletics program here at Bryant & Stratton College of Syracuse. The Lady Bobcats play at the CNY Sports Center in Baldwinsville NY, come support them on their road to Virginia Beach!
Coach Dave Bove is another new addition to the coaching staff as well as the director of soccer operations. He has been integral in getting the Bobcats more engaged in the community. His recruiting and hard work is helping BSC Syracuse become a household name not only for our success on the field but how we help our students in the class room.
Our seasons finally kick off in September and our campus could not be more excited! Our coaches have been putting in the hard work to build these teams for the fall, as well as our returning athletes have been taking things to the next level with their off season training. Everyone is invited to come support the Bobcats this season! We hope to see you there!
