Bobcats Shine at Oneota Invite

Bryant & Stratton College Cross Country team produced their best times of the season. . With an outstanding team effort, Lead By freshman Cory McGoughy, the Bobcats sealed a 5th place overall finish in the men?s 6k short course.

Cory was followed by fellow freshman and Maple Heights, OH native, Emmanuel Lopez. Manny?s fast start, set the tone for this race. He managed to spread the field by leading for the first mile. Manny was able to hang on to earn a top 40 overall finish with a time of 24:27.

Freshman, Je?Maul Belton (Syracuse, NY), finished in (team) third position with a personal record time of 26:44.

?Je?Maul is starting to find his stride? said Bobcat head coach Ryan Johnson. ?His hard work and compete level, will surely result in lower times throughout the season.? Je?Maul was followed by sophomore Sevon Caldwell (Mount Vernon, NY), and Raekwon Darby (Utica, NY). In an exciting sprint finish, Raekwon and Sevon finishing within seconds of each other.

Joe McIntyre (Phoenix, NY) and Tyler Short (Owego, NY) followed with very respectable times of 29:41 and 30:20 respectively.

?The team is steadily improving every week.? Said coach Johnson. ?It is a pleasure to coach such a dedicated, hardworking group of student athletes.?
