The Lady Shocks scored their first goal at the 19:06 mark. The Lady Shocks doubled their lead at the 37:26 mark, off a free kick scored by senior midfielder Cristina Reyes (Silver Spring, Maryland).
It was a scoreless second half for both the Lady Bobcats and the Lady Shocks. The Lady Shocks had a 10-5 advantage in shots, in the second half, while taking 8 of the game's 10 corner kicks. Freshman goalkeeper Victoria Herrera (Queens, NY) registered a career-high 13 saves, which consisted of 6 saves in the first half and 7 saves in the second half.
Following the game, Head Coach Amanda Belsito had reflected “ No one is content with this loss. But, losing is a part of playing the game. We lose now, so we can grow later and come back stronger. At least we can say that we were truly tested and learned some valuable lessons this weekend. I have great faith in this team and high hopes for the season”.
The Lady Bobcats (2-1-0) are back in action against Cayuga Community College this Wednesday at 4pm.
