BRYANT & STRATTON WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS SHORT AGAINST ALBANY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY AND HEALTH SCIENCES, 2-1.
The Lady Bobcats came out strong within the first few minutes of the first half Wednesday night. The Lady Bobcats offense pressed the Lady Panthers and kept high pressure on the Panthers but were unable to finish their chances. It was a highly defensive first half for both teams as they tried to create and connect their chances. The Lady Bobcats outshot the Lady Panthers 15-7 leaving a scoreless end to the first half.
The Lady Bobcats came out the second half with even more energy and dominating the game once again, with a number of shots on goal. The Lady Panthers started to gain momentum towards the end of the second half leading to a penalty kick off of a Lady Bobcats defensive mishap. Senior Forward Erin Tersegno (Webster, NY) was able to bury the ball into the bottom left hand corner, giving the Lady Panthers a 1-0 lead at the 66:48 mark.
The Lady Panthers did not stop there, as they continued to make an offensive presence. The Lady Panthers countered as freshman midfielder Cory Parker (Albany, NY) laid off the ball to Erin Tersegno who found the back of the net at the 85:35 mark, doubling the panthers lead. The Lady Bobcats were finally able to find the goal as Cherise Roberts (Bethel, Trinidad and Tobago) and Koemhong Hout (Phnom Penh,Cambodia) set up senior forward Portia Davis (Pares, Antigua and Barbuda) at the 89:27 mark. Unforchunetly for the Lady Bobcats, time was not on their side and they fell short even though they outshot the Lady Panthers 14-6.
The Lady Bobcats (4-3-1) will be home this weekend as they face Villa Maria this upcoming Saturday at 1:00 p.m
