More Overtime Heroics Push Bryant & Stratton Past SUNY ESF
The Lady Bobcats found themselves in double overtime again this past Thursday as they faced local rival SUNY ESF. The Lady Bobcats opened the game with an early goal from senior forward Portia Davis (Pares, Antigua and Barbuda) off a long ball by sophomore defender Jazmin Gonzalez (Harlem, NY) at the 3:45 mark. Davis was able to score her sixth goal of the season and lead the Lady Bobcats 2-0 off a ball from freshman midfielder Koemhong Hout (Phnom Penh,Cambodia) at the 15:02 mark.
The Lady Bobcats could not manage to shut out the Lady Oaks as Maeline Hollenbeck (Sauquoit, NY) worked to find Sierra Walsh (Warwick, NY) who was then able to counter and score at the 26:13 mark. As the game progressed, the Lady Oaks built momentum and found the back of the net once again. Alyssa Hughes (Burnt Hills, NY) put away the equalizing goal from a pass by Theresa Ferrigno (Oakdale, NY) at the 36:01 mark. The Lady Bobcats could not keep their lead and found themselves tied going into the second half.
Both, the Lady Bobcats and the Lady Oaks, battled through the second half but were incapable of reaching the back of the net. The Lady Bobcats keeper Shakeo O’Garro (Liberta Village, Antigua and Barbuda) registered 8 saves in the second half while the Mighty Oaks keeper Renee Perrotte (Ravena, NY) registered 6 saves. The Lady Oaks outshot the Lady Bobcats 12 to 11 in shots on goal for the second half. The final whistle blew, and both teams found themselves going into extra time.

Amela Racic (Utica, NY) was able to give the Lady Bobcats the goal they needed to win the game. Amela Racic was appointed to take a corner kick, with just under 2 minutes left in double over time. Racic put the ball past the Mighty Oaks keeper at the 1:18:35 mark and lead her time in a 3-2 victory over local rivals SUNY ESF.
The Lady Bobcats (4-1-1) will be away this weekend as they face William Smith this upcoming Sunday at 2:00 p.m
