After a difficult start to the 2017 season, the Bobcats earned their first victory with a 2-1 triumph over SUNY Canton.

Shortly after being named captain, Lissette Rodruguez was vital in leading the Bobcats to their first win. Canton jumped to an early lead as Jadeyn Ossont poached a rebound after an impressive save from BSC goalkeeper Ebony King.

The lead wouldn't last for the Roos as Rodriguez took over the game for the Bobcats. First, she combined with freshman Cindy Jacquet to level the score at one. Jacquet's first goal in her first game in a Bobcats uniform sparked what would become an impressive comeback victory.

Rodriguez wouldn't earn an assist on BSC's second goal, but she keyed the movement upfield. Her through ball to Krystal Taylor led Taylor to find Portia Davis for an easy tap-in and the game-winning goal.

Jacquet would score the opening goal for the Bobcats once again as they took on William Smith College on Sunday, September 24.

Jacquet capitalized on BSC's persistent attack in the 11th minute of the match. However, the Bobcats were unable to maintain their lead and eventually wilted, conceding two, second-half goals to William Smith.

?I believe this game was a great testament to our character," head coach Amanda Belsito said. "It?s not nice to lose a game you were winning. And it?s frustrating to concede goals that I considered to be easily preventable. But we will take this experience and grow from it.?

The Lady Bobcats will travel to Maine for a pair of road matchups with Main-Fort Kent and Maine-Presque Isle. This comes after the cancellation of today's game against Mohawk Valley.
