The Bryant & Stratton College women's soccer team opened the 2017 season with a 2-1 loss at the hands of SUNY Polytechnic Institue.

Poly's success ran through Ashley O'Connor who staked the Wildcats to an early lead before doubling the advantage in the second half.

Bryant & Stratton pulled within one when Jeanille Lawrence scored off a terrific assist from Janet Madrid. Madrid found Lawrence on a perfect through ball that sent the forward in behind the Poly defense where she slotted home to make the score 2-1.

"We had one week to get orientated then prepare for this game," said new head coach Amanda Belsito. "They took everything they learned straight to that field on Saturday. We lost the game, but gained a great understanding of what the season is going to look like for us. I?m excited to see what we are going to make of it.?
