Bryant & Stratton College - Syracuse
Fourth Ranked Bobcats Split Key Weekend Set
Oct 17, 2016

Bryant & Stratton College women's soccer continued their up-and-down play from earlier in the week, splitting their weekend contests with Villa Maria and SUNY-ESF.

The Bobcats answered a 4-2 loss to University of Maine-Fort Kent with a key victory over SUNY Canton. They carried the momentum from their victory over Canton into their contest against Villa Maria.

BSC left little doubt against Villa Maria, scoring six times in the first half and once more in the second for a 7-0 win. Lisssette Rodriguez opened the scoring while Portia Davis added a brace in the opening 20 minutes of action. Three more goals from Malory Drake, Kanika Buckley and Khadijah Morris widened the gap to six before the end of the half.

Megan Drake followed her sister's act to make the score 7-0 and icing the win. Lissette Infante went the distance for the Bobcats, earning the fifth clean sheet on the season for BSC.

The Bobcats weren?t nearly as fortunate on Sunday after their seven-goal outburst, losing 2-1 to ESF on a 98th minute goal from Lauren Archer.

The extra time tally was Archer?s second of the game and eliminated the chance for a comeback effort by the Bobcats as Portia Davis scored to tie the game for BSC in the 76th minute.

The loss dropped the Bobcats to 8-4-1 on the year but they kept their standing at 4th in the USCAA poll. Of their four losses, three are to the teams directly ahead of them in the polls. BSC will close their season on October 22 against Onondaga CC before heading to the USCAA National Tournament.
