Bobcats Split Week Against UMFK and SUNY Canton
Oct 13, 2016

Bryant & Stratton College women?s soccer rebounded from a tough early-week loss to University of Maine-Fort Kent with a decisive 3-1 victory over SUNY Canton on Wednesday.

The win over Canton buoyed a week that began with a trying 4-2 defeat at the hands of UMFK. The Bobcats fell behind early and couldn?t find any space to forge a serious comeback, conceding three-straight goals in the opening 20 minutes. Kai Jacobs helped bring BSC back into the game in the 32nd minute with her first of two goals on the day.

Jacobs tallied again in the 89th minute but that only pushed the final scoreline to 4-2 as UMFK picked up two goals each from Kendra Freund and Sherifatu Sumaila.

BSC didn?t have long to linger on the loss as they were right back in action two days later against Canton. The Bobcats followed the script played out for them by UMFK, racing to an early three-goal advantage to put Canton away early.

Njemile Charles opened the scoring for the Bobcats with the only tally of the first half, giving BSC the advantage after the first 45. Portia Davis and Kai Jacobs would ice the game away with tallies in the 65th and 86th minutes, respectively. Kristina DiNardo finally put Canton on the board but the 87th minute goal would be the only one allowed by the Bobcats.

Megan Hagadorn made three saves in the win as the Bobcats improved to 7-3-1 on the season.
