Alex Grigorita Returns to Bobcats Athletics Program
Bryant & Stratton College today announced that former women’s soccer head coach Alex Grigorita is returning to the Bryant & Stratton College athletics department in a new role as Assistant Athletic Director, Recruiting Coordinator and Director of the Men’s and Women’s JV soccer teams.
Grigorita joined the Bryant & Stratton College coaching staff in 2012, as an assistant coach for both men’s and women’s soccer. In the fall of 2013, Alex made his professional debut as the head women’s soccer coach. In less than four years he has transformed the Women’s Program from a non-ranking Junior College team to a top national program in the USCAA. In his first year as Head Coach, Alex led the Lady Bobcats to achieve the standing as the NJCAA Region 3 Runner Up. His fourth year marked the third consecutive year Alex has led the Women’s team to the USCAA National Championship. Under his leadership, the team has become a National Semi-finalist, finishing third in the country in 2015 and 2016 seasons. Grigorita, has built consecutively larger national and international recruiting classes, and fostered the skills of 7 All-American Players. Grigorita has surpassed his own record each year, with over 20 wins from 2015 and 2016 alone.
In addition, Alex has extensive experience coaching club soccer in the in Central New York. Grigorita started his own club team and has had players recruited to NCAA Division I and Division II teams.
Alex, a native of Chisinau, Moldova began playing soccer at the age of seven after being recruited by a dominate youth soccer coach. In Moldova, his success as a player and passion for the game led him to coach numerous youth teams, culminating with a coaching position with the Moldova National Youth Soccer Academy. Three of his players moved on to play for the Moldova U-15 National Team.
Alex played as Central Defender for Bryant & Stratton College, and was team captain from 2010- 2012. As a player, he achieved numerous awards including 2011 Second Team NJCAA All-American, 2011 First Team All-Region, 2011 First Team All-Conference honors, NJCAA Academic All-American, and 2011 MVP. Alex also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports, and a USSF D Coaching License.
