Men's Soccer Topples Cleary in USCAA Tournament Play
Nov 10, 2017

It took less than a minute for Uros Momic to put Bryant & Stratton College on the board at the USCAA National Tournamnet.

Momic combined with Mattieu LeRoux to spark a first half onslaught that was kept respectable thanks to tremendous goaltending by Cleary keeper Marc Hodges.

The Bobcats were dominant in the opening half, firing 13 shots with six being on goal. Hodges was terrific in goal for Cleary, helping to keep the score closer than most on the Bobcats sideline would have preferred.

Despite the narrow lead, the Bobcats control in possession eventually led to a breakthrough. In a chippy second half, LeRoux added a goal to his previous assist, staking the Bobcats to a 2-0 lead in the 66th minute.

As he has been all year, LeRoux was the talisman for the Bobcats. He fired six shots, four on goal while factoring in on both BSC goals. He was hardly the only focal point of the Bryant & Stratton attack. Zino Zampach saw all three of his shots go on goal, although none found the twine thanks to the exploits of Hodges.

BSC keeper, Felix Piazzo was only forced into one save while the other five shots attempted by Cleary didn?t find the goal.

The victory puts BSC in the driver?s seat in Pool A. They face NHTI today at 4:45 with a chance to seal their berth in the USCAA final four.
