Syracuse, NY-
The Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Men's Basketball team played two games over the weekend and split the pair of matchups. On Friday night, the Bobcats were defeated by Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo 99-74, but on Saturday evening the Bobcats beat Fisher College by a score of 94-89. The pair of games moves the Bobcats record to 6-4 on the season with just three games remaining before the midseason break.
How it happened:
On Friday night, the #2 Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo Men's Basketball team faced off against the Bobcats in an intense game at the Tipperary Hill Community Center. The Bobcats battled throughout the game, but the visitors' elite shooting performance was too much for the Bobcats to overcome on the night.
For the Bobcats, Anton Berga had an incredible night scoring a career-high 30 points on 11-12 shooting from the field. Berga helped keep the Bobcats in the game at times with his performance, but the Bobcats ultimately would come up short losing 99-74.
Fortunately for the Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Men's Basketball team, they did not have to wait long to shake off the loss. The team was back in action on Saturday evening against Fisher College from Boston, Massachusetts.
Looking like a team with something to prove, the Bobcats jumped on top of the Falcons and would never relinquish the lead. Big first half performances from Darren Joyner and Josue Oreste set the pace for the Bobcats and helped them to a 49-43 lead going into half-time.
In the second half, Joyner would continue his amazing performance on the way to a career-high 31 points for the Bobcats. Back-court partner, Anton Berga would add 16 points on the evening as well to ensure the Bobcats a victory over Fisher College, 94-89.
"Our group did a great job of responding tonight after a playing a really tough Bryant & Stratton College- Buffalo yesterday," said Head Coach Clay Gagen-Sherman following the victory over Fisher College.
"We are a resilient group and I think we are doing a pretty good job staying consistent and not getting too high or too low. This is an important win for us to build momentum heading into the last few games of the first semester."
Next Game:
The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday, December 16th as they travel to Long Island, NY to take on Five Towns College at 8pm.
